Palazzo Contarini Michiel is a family owned Grand Canal Palazzo. Built in the late renaissance, by the Contarini family, the Palazzo offers its guests the rare combination of historical beauty and luxury. Its large, sun-filled rooms allow its guest to enjoy an elegant yet bright atmosphere with enough open space to accommodate both formal or private gatherings.
The eclectic and oriental style of the house is greatly due to the grand father of the present owner, an Ambassador who lived for years in Tokyo in the 20's and 30's with his venitian wife, and where he collected art.
Each of its rooms has spectacular views while the main sitting room has a large balcony on the Grand Canal and a terrace on the third floor.
The palazzo – set on the Grand Canal – is located in what is considered the nicest part of Venice. It is slightly off the main tourist track but central enough to reach any of the jewels of Venice within minutes. The Location
