The Location

The palazzo is on the Grand Canal just off Campo San Barnaba. It faces Campo San Samuele, on the other side of the Grand Canal and is right next to the Cà Rezzonico Museum.

This part of town still enjoys a quite dense local venitian population which makes it very agreeable to live in and facilitates your practical life by having all the necessary services around the corner.

Between Campo San Barnaba and its neighboring Campo Santa Margherita you will find bakers, pastry shops, supermarkets, delicatessen, butchers, fruit and vegetable shops, wine shops, as well as open air fish market etc… All of which will you're your shopping become a very enjoyable activity, that can be interrupted any time at one of the numerous outdoor cafés, bars, or restaurants.

On the cultural side, Palazzo Contarini Michiel is next door the Cà Rezzonico, museum of 18th century venitian art. Facing across the canal, is Palazzo Grassi hosting the François Pinault Foundation of Contemporary art. It takes 5 minutes to walk from the Palazzo to the Accademia museum, and 10 minutes to the Guggenheim museum, as well as 10 minutes to the Frari church and the Scuola di San Rocco.

One can also easily get to Piazza San Marco by taking a 10 minutes vaporetto trip from the Nr.1 vaporetto stop just outside of the house. The trip to Rialto is also only 12 minutes.
